Local Nature Conservation Sites - East Lothian

Catherine Cumming is contact within East Lothian for all non-gis related queries - ccumming1@eastlothian.gov.uk.

East Lothian’s Local Biodiversity Sites were designated through the East Lothian Local Development Plan 2018. The mapping is therefore only accurate to 1:10,000. Mapping of the boundaries of these sites should not be relied on below this scale. In particular, the boundaries may not be (and in some cases definitely are not) accurate with regard to OS Mastermap. Guidance on the methodology for designated the sites is set out in the related Technical Note to the East Lothian Local Development Plan 2018, Planning For Biodiversity, which is available from our website (here: https://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/downloads/file/27787/technical_note_10_planning_for_biodiversity This may help determine, in cases of doubt, whether an area is within an LBS or not.
